Russian Rostekhnadzor is preparing to sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of regulation of nuclear and radiation safety in the field of peaceful nuclear energy with the State Industrial Safety Committee of Uzbekistan, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the order of the Russian government.
This document is necessary to replenish the legal basis for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan with the participation of Russia.
The fact that the Uzatom agency, together with Rostekhnadzor, began to adapt the Russian regulatory and technological base for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, became known in October 2019. During the preparation of the NPP design, its construction and further operation, the Russian regulatory and legal framework in the nuclear field will be applied.
Recall that at the end of last year, the conditions for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan by the state corporation “Rosatom” were in the process of discussion, the final agreement was not concluded.
Uzbekistan is clarifying issues, including on price, on the pricing of services provided by a Russian contractor. It is checked with third countries, rechecking the validity of certain prices.
